elevator pitches:

story: this story is set in a place where the barren land and the extreme cold sort of makes it impossible for the peeople to grow their own food or collect resrouces. SO, they have to rely on trips to (very far) neighboring towns to allow them to get food and fuel other essential stuff like that. However, as one can imagine, those trips are super dangerous and lengthy. the plotline follows the main character who, in the history of the village is the first to have volunteered !!! to partake in this journey.

character: Nolyako, which means "the smallest" in Nenet, is our mc!!

Ironically, Nolyako is the eldest of four, and aside from simply the thrill of the journey, Nolyako volunteered for the sake of their siblings. They're big hearted and naive, but will quickly sacrifice others in order to save their loved words. Kinda like the vibe of a rly loyal dog, I wanted their design to show that enthusiacted yet cluttered personality, with a bunch of clothes and weapons that are acc rly unnecessary lol

vehicle: designed the sled that's taken on these decennial resource voyages. I wanted it to have ample storage space so the travelers could have enough room for both the supplies for themselves and the things they bring back and for it to be made out of something thats sturdy. A large majority of the sled is made out of bone, which makes them seem more resourceful, and, is super study also!!! The mammoth skull serves as both the steering area and also the "tent" that they would sleep in to keep warm. 

environment: similarly to the vehicle and the other objects in this world, the village houses are primarily made out of wood, pelts, rope, and bone, due to their availability. I also decided to keep them on a sort of elevated ground, as heat rises up and they would be able to stay warmer at night.
