Story: My project Centaurea takes place in the forests of South Africa where a young scalie (basilisk lizard) lives, along with other reptiles. She was the smallest reptile around and everyone in the community bullied her for her size every single day. They would always tell her that she could not achieve anything big with a small figure like hers. She was always a very positive person so she ignored the hate. Until her 15th birthday she was finally of age to enter a race that was a huge deal in this world, think of it as the Iron Man Triathlon. She thought this would be a great opportunity to get the larger animals to stop tormenting her and she wanted to try it out since it was a huge deal. The first year she got 4th place and the other reptiles continued bullying her, but she continued to practice for the next race. The second year she got 2nd place, and she was still bullied but not as often. And finally at the age of 18 she proves the other reptiles wrong and gets first place, being the youngest and smallest. Moral of the story: small reptiles can achieve big thins if they put in the effort. ;]

Character: The main character of this story is Nara. I knew I wanted it to be a basilisk lizard at the very start because of it's ability to run on water. At first I wanted the character to be mostly lizard like, on all fours, but I felt that it would be too similar to the real thing. So I went with a more humanlike featured lizard design.  I incorporated flowers, vines and leaves into the character to show that she is a very positive and cheery person.

Vehicle: For my vehicle, I initially thought of a tank like car that would transport anyone living in this world. After many rough sketches I was sure that I should design a car specifically for my main character, as it would make more sense. The car I designed is a three-wheeled car, which I always thought was cool and eye-catching. This character also has a distinct look and personality so I thought it fit really well.

Environment: For the environment, Alstroemeria, I had originally thought to have a bouquet of flowers on a tree in place of the leaves and branches, but that didn't read as a place to live, so I decided on my other idea, a tree that contained different types of houses. I took inspiration from treehouses, roots, roof designs, flowers, and trees in general. For my color palette, I still wanted to have a realistic forest-like color to it, but I didn't want it to overpower so I used some pastel colors, whereas I used a bit more saturated and bright colors for the areas I wanted to bring attention to.
