Story: My story is about overcoming self doubt and not caring about what other people think of oneself. The setting takes place in a city in which individual expression is frowned upon. There are two central characters who juxtapose each other. The main character is a dancer who is terrified of being ostracized by the public and suppresses her passions. The other is a lead musician who lives in a forest and does what she likes, and this is the character I made my project about.
Character: At first, I didn’t know what the musician would look like, so I tried a lot of different designs. I finally settled on this design. I wanted her to stand out from other people and look confident in herself, which is also why I went with these more saturated colors instead of a more realistic palette.
Vehicle: For the vehicle, I initially wanted to design an RV, because I thought it would be fitting to the musician’s personality if her home was mobile. But in the end, I decided to make a motorcycle instead. I wanted the motorcycle to look homemade and scrappy, but also very personalized and loved.
Environment: For my environment, I chose to draw the forest the musician lives in over the city where the dancer lives in. I took inspiration from my previous RV designs for the hero building. I decided to go with an unrealistic color palette for the forest because my main character thought the forest was magical, and I wanted it to be viewed out of her perspective.
